Danny Boyle Eyes '28 Years Later III' for Next Year
Danny Boyle isn't done with the infected just yet — the Oscar-winning director has his sights firmly set on wrapping up his zombie trilogy ASAP.
The man behind the original 28 Days Later is already planning his next move. According to Deadline Hollywood, Boyle is hoping to shoot 28 Years Later III as early as next year, capping off the horror trilogy he reignited with 28 Years Later: Bone Temple. Two words sum up his mood right now: fingers crossed.
Boyle told Deadline Hollywood he would have loved to shoot the third film back-to-back with Bone Temple — but fate had other plans. He 'literally ran out of time' with the location, forcing him to pump the brakes on what would have been a seamless production run. Classic horror movie curse? Maybe.
Still, the director sounds energized and determined to close out the story on his own terms. Fans who've been riding with this franchise since 2002 won't have to wait forever — if Boyle gets his way, the trilogy's final chapter could hit cameras sooner than anyone expected. Stay tuned.
